Dear Parents,
December was a month of celebrating and acknowledging different holidays and cultures.
We especially embraced the festive spirit with Christmas and Chanukah decorations, while also learning briefly about Kwanzaa, and simply acknowledging that everyone has their own respectable beliefs. Ultimately, we taught a lot about gratitude, teaching our young ones how lucky they are in comparison to some struggling countries. Building this foundation at an early age is important, to help children to be more empathetic socially, having more awareness and appreciation of differences. In addition, children have been learning about care for our environment, awareness of the dangers of littering, the process of recycling, and other ways such as composting to care for our world.
We have also been introducing some pre-academics, along with early academics for the older students such as beginning sounds and simple addition. Your children have learned fun facts about animals, plants, color mixing, gas/liquid/solids, and more. While we hope you have enjoyed our weekly summaries of lessons, if you ever have questions about more details on work materials, we are always happy to share, so do reach out! In the meantime, hopefully you are hearing new vocabulary as your children learn fun facts about the global awareness, the sciences, and more.
And now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for: some festive photos that showcase how your child wrapped up the year of 2023 on a positive and productive note. Don’t forget to scroll through these photos with your child for a quality-time opportunity to learn more about each image from their perspective. And as always, don’t hesitate to post a comment at the end of this post—we love hearing your reactions as well.
Enjoy!

Last but not least, some snapshots from the last day of school before winter break! Below are some unplanned “school family photos” to capture the spontaneous joy and excitement that the children shared heading into break.

Happy New Year, everyone!
Love sharing my days with these amazing humans.
