Celebrating Dads at Indigo

Dear Parents,

To all of the dads & family that came to visit last Friday– we’re grateful that so many of you were able to come and let the kids celebrate their love for you! If you weren’t able to attend, we completely understand as well– You have all played a very supportive role here and we know that each and every child in this classroom is truly loved. You are a very important person to your child and your positive influence shines through as we see your little one making progress in the studio.

Art Project for Dads

We wanted to pick a colorful theme that would compliment our mother’s day birds, and all of the kids loved the idea of “daddy fish” and “baby fish.” After learning a lesson about fish along with a slideshow of colorful fresh water and tropical fish, the kids were excited to paint for you. I was pretty busy replenishing paints and assisting kids that day, so I wasn’t able to get photos of every child, but our students were so very proud of their artwork.

Preparation for the Celebration

The Set Up

Mastaneh added her special touch to the classrooms to make your visit nice and cozy, which we always appreciate…

Places, Places, Everyone!

We got a couple of pics of the kids all lined up before you all walked in, in case no one was able to take photos, but it turned out that Milan managed to get a good number of pics during the actual celebration. Thanks, Milan!

The Performance!

You can practically hear them singing! Well, mostly! I think I was more nervous than they were, because I definitely hit a few wrong notes on the guitar that day… but I’d like to think the kids covered up for me! So proud of them all as they sang Singing in the Rain and Stand by Me 🙂

Party Time!

We hope you all had a wonderful time hanging out in our studio for treats with the kids. It was certainly a special day for them to celebrate you!

Quick Update

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce Prashanthi, a teacher who has been interning with us full time for the past few weeks as she studies the Montessori Method. Moms and Dads, you may have seen her helping us out in the studio during out Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebration. We were excited to meet her when she came to us with a desire to learn Montessori Education. She is quick to learn, goes with the flow, and all of the kids have taken a liking to her as well.

Pashanthi

Prashanthi was previously working in a classroom with kids in a similar setting with combined ages of 3 to 6 years old at a traditional school in India. Her husband recently became a resident at Duke, they have family in the Triangle Area, and so far they really like Durham! Prashanthi was looking for a Montessori School near her new home and we happened to be the nearest, so we got lucky with being her first choice! Hopefully you’ll get a chance to say “hi” before the end of the school year.

That’s all the big news for now. The kids have been staying productive and I hope to get one big newsletter out before school is out!

See you soon,

Angelique
